Cosmos, Christos, and Commitment
Probing Anew the Mystery of Our Living God
Saturday 9-3 pm
We are challenged today to take up the scientific and religious accounts of our origins in entirely new ways. For some, these narratives are incompatible; for others they are necessarily related. But if so, how?
This workshop will explore the relationship and make connections that will generate new revelations about the mystery of our Living God and invite us into an ever more integrated life in relationship and communion with God and ourselves in our earth community.
Participants are encouraged to bring their attitudes, wonderings, questions, and convictions about our experience of God today.
Mary Ellen Sheehan is a member of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Sisters of Monroe, MI. She received an M.A. in Philosophy from St. Louis University and a Doctorate in Theology (STD) from the Catholic University of Louvain in Belgium. She taught at the University of St. Michael’s College of the Toronto School of Theology for thirty-five years.
Currently, she is Professor Emerita and resides in Windsor, Ontario, Canada. She offers lectures, workshops, and retreats that relate theology to a range of pastoral questions emerging in our current cultural context. She draws both on experience and understanding of God and to explore the meaning of committed Christian discipleship in our world of today.
