The Enneagram Group will continue our pursuit of understanding the nuances of our individual personalities. We study the peculiar habits of our Type so that they become our teacher guides to higher states of mindfulness.
This semester we will focus on the Nine Types when in the energy of the Social Instinct. This powerful biological drive is more fundamental than our desire to socialize. Akin to an animal’s herd instinct for security in numbers, this human instinct acknowledges that on our own, we are vulnerable. Banding together, adjusting ourselves to others and being acceptable is a fundamental, survival-based instinct.
We will explore our humanness in interacting with people to build:
- our personal value
- our sense of accomplishment
- our security of place with others.
To join us on our journey, you do not need to have attended our earlier study groups. It will be necessary, however, that you have some familiarity with The Enneagram as a psychological model of Nine Types of Personality.
Darla Temple is a Certified Spiritual Director and Enneagram Instructor.
