March 5 and 6
Friday Evening 7:00 - 9:00 PM and Saturday 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM

“Jesus, Easter and Pentecost in a New Universe Story.”
Facilitator: Michael Morwood

Traditional Christian understanding of Jesus, Easter and Pentecost is articulated in a dualistic worldview which has a flat earth as the center of creation, an overseeing deity “sending” his son
“down” from heaven, the return of the son to heaven and the descent of God’s Spirit upon one
group of people who then claimed to have access to God’s dwelling place in heaven.
How might we understand and appreciate anew Jesus, Easter and Pentecost if we focus on a
universe permeated with the Divine Presence and honor Jesus as the revealer of that Presence
always with us - in our living and dying, in our prayer and worship, and in our bonding with all
people and with all that exists? As a participant your faith will be deepened and renewed as never before and your personal celebration of Easter will be enriched this year and in every year to come.

About Michael Morwood....
Michael Morwood served as a Sacred Heart priest in Victoria, Australia for 28 years before resigning from his priesthood. His first book Tomorrow's Catholic: Understanding God and Jesus in a New Millennium, published in 1997, brought him international attention and put him on the speaking circuit. Morwood wants to help Catholics re-image and re-language some of the basics of their faith, including a cohesive religious worldview in harmony with our place in the universe. He believes that the “Good News” can become “Better News.” Morwood's inspirations are cosmologist Brian Swimme and recently deceased theologian Thomas Berry, to name a few. Since 1998, Morwood has written two more popular books, Is Jesus God (Crossroads, 2001) and Praying the New Story (2004)
