What do we do when life as we know it tumbles down around us? How do we make sense of the collapse? How do we find footing when the ground below us is ever shifting?

Having experienced such a year, I have found my hope and orientation in the larger story of the unfolding Universe. This story affirms for me that the movement of God is always toward greater wholeness and more life.

  • It has taught me that chaos can be trusted; that order will emerge (and I‘m not in control of when or how it happens!).
  • It has taught me that “love is the structure of the universe” and that I am invited to rest in this love.
  • It has taught me that I can give myself to “the more” that is yet to be.

When life overwhelms me and loss and fear set in, I now know that I can trust in a larger story, not a story limited to the next life, but a story that engages this life! And because we are all one, when I consciously engage in the evolution of my own life, I am also participating in the evolution of ALL of life. What an awesome reason to say “yes”!

I have learned that the important questions are: How do we creatively engage the chaos? How do we rest in liminal space when our egos prefer certainty? How do we engage in the work that is calling forth greater wholeness?

On June 4, Michael Morwood, renowned retreat leader and author on the New Universe Story, will explore this topic in light of new understandings of God, Jesus, revelation and prayer. Please join us for Michael’s insights, and what promises to be a lively discussion.
